There a several programs under Medicare available under Medicaid that are administered by local Social Services Departments to help low income Medicare beneficiaries
pay for some of their out-of-pocket expenses.
The resource limit for QMB and SLMB is $4,000 for a single individual and $6,000 for a couple. Currently there is no limit on resources for the QI-1 program. Resources do not include home or automobile. To apply, contact your local Social Services Agency.
