For those who do not qualify for the Patient Assistant Programs, a number of pharmaceutical company’s offer prescription cards that allow individuals to get medications at discounted prices. Some of the programs are:
Together RX Card: This is a free program that can save 20-40% on brand name prescription drugs. This card is accepted at most pharmacies. Ten of the major pharmaceutical companies participate in this project. To qualify you must be a Medicare beneficiary, have an annual income less than $28,000 (single) and $38,000 (couple). Orange Card: This card is designed to provide an average of 30% savings on GlaxoSmithKline prescription medications. To be eligible you must have Medicare, an annual income must be below $30,000 (single) and $40,000 (couple). This card can be used at most pharmacies and offer a savings of 30-40% for prescription medications.
